TUESDAY

APRIL 27, 1982

-

which would add a new section to both Article VI and VIII, respectively, of the

Terms and Conditions of Electric Service and the Terms and Conditions for Water and

Sewer Service, setting forth procedures under which the City's utility service

customers' monthly utility service chages may be paid by their respective banks.

------

At the request of City Manager Edmonds, Council postponed action on proposed

revisions (to be incorporated in a re-published edition) to the City's Personnel

Manual in order that one or more sections thereof might be further revised to

parallel revised State statutes, where applicable. In addition, Council directed

that the currently-established number of holidays for City employees (under the

Manager's jurisdiction) be retained (i.e., no increase as proposed), with

authority given to the City Administration to rearrange or redesignate such holidays,

if so desired, within the present number authorized.

Council acknowledged, with commendation, a joint report from City Manager Edmonds

and Tax Collection Assistant George B. Lavinder on the favorable results from

special delinquent real estate tax collection efforts initiated with the employment

of Mr. Lavinder (on a part-time basis) on October 1, 1982.

------

Council acknowledged receipt, for further consideration at its forthcoming May 11th

meeting, a status report on planning efforts related to the proposed expansion of the

City's Wastewater Treatment (Water Pollution Control) Plant, for which a supplemental

report (prepared by Wiley & Wilson, Consulting Engineers) was presented.

Council acknowledged receipt of a financial report for the quarter (and the nine-

months period of the current fiscal year) ended March 31, 1982.
