<br />TUESDAY JANUARY 26, 1982 <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />located and/or active usage is being made. On those portions not currently being <br />used or not contemplated as being put to future usage, Council--through Councilman <br />Reed--requested that further study be given and that a follow-up staff report be <br />submitted to Council thereon. <br /> <br />Council deferred, until its next regular meeting, consideration of a financial report <br />of the City's financial activities and condition for the six-month period ended <br />December 31, 1981. <br /> <br />""".. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged receipt of a quarterly report (i.e., for the quarter ended <br />December 31, 1981) from the Martinsville-Henry County Rental Assistance Program. <br /> <br />Council also acknowledged receipt from City Manager Edmonds of a status report on the <br />City's overall water supply situation, indicating that the water level of the City's <br />Beaver Creek Reservoir is now seven feet and seven and three-fourths inches below the <br />spillway, reflecting a continuing trend toward normalcy in the City's available raw <br />water supply. <br /> <br />In response to City Manager Edmonds' request for a clarification on employee eligibility <br /> <br />requirements for the City's retirement stipends, and in acceptance of Mr. Edmonds' <br /> <br />recommendations thereon, Council established the following criteria: <br /> <br />1. Termination is in good standing; and <br />2. Retirees must be eligible for VSRS retirement benefits, <br />under either of the following: <br />A. Regular; or <br />B. Medical. <br />NOTE: Personnel of the Blue Ridge Regional Library will not be <br />eligible for said stipends. <br /> <br />Council was apprised of the forthcoming Legislative Day, sponsored by the Virginia <br />Municipal League, to be held In Richmond, Virginia, February 17, 1982. <br /> <br />Pursuant to Section 2.1-344 of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended), and upon <br />motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried by a recorded vote, Council convened into <br />an Executive Session to consider the following matters: <br />
