Request the Henry County Board of Supervisors to reconsider the
City's initial request for immediate usage of Reed Creek water,
in accordance with Mr. Overman's proposal;
4. With Henry County's permission and subject to the State Health
Department's requirements, make immediate usage of the Lester
Quarry supply;
5. Pursue the possibility of drilling new wells at the City's Jones
Creek Water Treatment plant;
6. Utilize, if possible, a number of small lakes located above the
City's Beaver Creek Reservoir;
7. Pursue the possibility of utilizing Beaver Creek at a point above
the Henry County Landfill site; and
8. Utilize, if possible, a number of privately-owned wells within
the City's corporate limits.

Meanwhile, through Mayor Greene, Council acknowledged with appreciation the time and

cooperative efforts the Henry County Board of Supervisors, its staff and engineers,

have devoted to the City's emergency water request, noting that the City desires to

continue negotiations with Henry County on this matter but, at the moment, because

it is estimated that acceptance of Henry County's current proposal will require an

increase of 65%-to-80% in the City's present water rates, it is incumbent upon

Council to explore all water source possibilities in order that the City might

supply its water customers at the least cost.

Council was adjourned.

Council
