Mr. Edmonds also commended the City's Public <br /> <br />Works Department staff (principally Messrs. George W. Brown, Director, <br /> <br />Phillip Henry, and James W. Hopkins) for their assistance and concentrating <br /> <br />on the immediate water shortage problem during the past several weeks. <br /> <br />Council aCknowledged a report from City Manager Edmonds on the activities <br /> <br />and operation of the Personnel Office for the fiscal year ended June 30, <br /> <br />1981. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry from Vice-Mayor Cole, City Manager Edmonds informed <br /> <br />Council of the status of procedures in process toward obtaining the permission <br /> <br />of the Henry County Board of Supervisors necessary for the impoundment of <br /> <br />Smith River for the City's proposed Ridgeway Hydro-Electric Project. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned, with the understanding that, if conditions warrant in <br /> <br />connection with the Water Resources Conservation Plan and/or measures authorized <br /> <br />to obtain additional emergency water supplies, a special meeting of Council will <br /> <br />be duly called. <br /> <br />W.
