<br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 5, 1981 <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />called for a duly-advertised public hearing on both the revised budget and <br /> <br />the proposed tax levy increase to be conducted at Council's forthcoming June 9th <br /> <br />meeting. Included in the motion, too, was the calling for a duly-advertised <br /> <br />public hearing at said June 9th meeting on proposed usages of revenue-sharing funds <br /> <br />for 1981-82, as well as the condition that City Manager Edmonds ascertain from <br /> <br />Mrs. Mabelle King, Director of the City's Social Services Department, a justification <br /> <br />for the adding of one new employee to her staff, as proposed, and the request that <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />1981-82 salary increases for personnel of this department be revised in keeping with <br /> <br />the 10% ceiling Council has established for personnel under the jurisdiction of the <br /> <br />City Manager. As a result of revisions directed in the proposed 1981-82 City Budget, <br /> <br />it was estimated that a surplus of approximately $325,000.00 would be available in <br /> <br />the General Fund at June 30, 1982. <br /> <br />Meanwhile, Council and City Manager Edmonds expressed appreciation of the City <br /> <br />School Board's cooperation in reducing its initial 1981-82 budget request and <br /> <br />Council commended City Manager Edmonds for his development and presentation of his <br /> <br />recommended 1981-82 City Budget. <br /> <br />Council was adjourned. <br /> <br />_. <br /> <br />.).
