<br />~"'0 <br />\'.; () <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MARCH 24, 1981 <br /> <br />and (that) the long-range improvements (i.e., upgrading) are scheduled to begin five <br /> <br />months later. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council placed on first reading a <br /> <br />proposed ordinance which would amend the City's Business & Professional License Tax Ordinance <br /> <br />to include (under paragraph 10 of Chapter III), and impose a tax on, "....vendors in flea <br /> <br />markets" except vendors dealing exclusively in second-hand items from their own homes, as <br /> <br />recommended by Commissioner of the Revenue D. B. Hanel. <br /> <br />Also, upon recommendation of the Commissioner of the Revenue, Council authorized the <br /> <br />preparation of an ordinance which, if adopted, will impose an interest charge (in addition <br /> <br />to the present penalty charge) on delinquent business license taxes. <br /> <br />Upon recommendation of the City's insurance consultants (Industrial Insurance Management <br /> <br />Corporation), Council authorized the inviting of bids from insurance underwriters for the City's <br /> <br />property and casualty insurance for 1981-82. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council adopted on second reading a <br /> <br />document setting forth the terms and conditions under which the City will furnish water <br /> <br />and sewer services to its customers. <br /> <br />Council unanimously placed on first reading an ordinance which would adopt the BOCA Standard <br /> <br />Plumbing Code (198l Edition) for the City as well as an ordinance which would adopt the National <br /> <br />Electrical Code (1981 Edition) for the City. <br />
