<br />L12 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 24, 1983 <br /> <br />property at 1133 Banner Street (Lot 3, Block A), ac- <br />quired by Mr. Joe N. Gravely, Jr., and Mrs. Shirley <br />M. Gravely from Mr. William B. Muse, Jr., by deed <br />dated October 6, 1971, and recorded March 16, 1972, <br />on which delinquent taxes in the amount of $79.33 <br />are due; and <br /> <br />B. Assessment for the tax year 1963 on property identified <br />as Lot No. 9 on Baldwin Street (known as the Baldwin <br />Apartments) and acquired in June of 1963 by Dr. Dana O. <br />Baldwin from Mr. Curtis Higginbotham and subsequently <br />sold (in October of 1977) by Dr. Baldwin's heirs to <br />the JCM Company, Inc., on which delinquent taxes in the <br />amount of $355.66 are due for 1963. <br /> <br />In accepting the low bid of $17,947.00 submitted by Service Roofing & Sheet Metal <br /> <br />Company (Martinsville) for the replacing of the roof on the National Guard Armory <br /> <br />building and (for) the installation of additional drains at that site, Council unanimously <br /> <br />appropriated from General Fund surplus said sum, plus $762.75 for architectural services, <br /> <br />to finance the cost of this work during the current fiscal year. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry, City Manager Edmonds informed Council that the additional <br /> <br />information required by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for final acceptance of <br /> <br />the City's license application for the Ridgeway Project is being compiled and is <br /> <br />scheduled to be delivered within the time constraints established by the Commission. <br /> <br />City Manager Edmonds informed Council that, of the several U. S. Corps of Engineers' <br /> <br />water impoundment facilities for which preliminary permits have been sought by the <br /> <br />Municipal Electric Power Association of Virginia to convert one or more of these <br /> <br />facilities to hydro-power generation1only one--being the Summersville Dam in West Vir- <br /> <br />ginia--remains "alive" and that, although the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has <br /> <br />issued a preliminary permit to the Town of Summersville, efforts are underway by MEPAV <br /> <br />to appeal and/or contest the permit issuance inasmuch as the Town of Summersville does <br />
