<br />)2 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MARCH 22, 1983 <br /> <br />of the Revenue Sharing Act, an administrative and duly-advertised public hearing will <br /> <br />be conducted by the City's administrative staff on Wednesday, March 23, 1983, beginning <br /> <br />at 9:30 A.M., for the purpose of receiving requests and/or suggestions from the general <br /> <br />citizenry as to usages of Revenue Sharing funds during the City's fiscal year beginning <br /> <br />July 1, 1983. <br /> <br />Council commended City Manager Edmonds and Police Chief Terry L. Roop on their proposal <br /> <br />to purchase City police vehicles in the future through or under State contracts and <br /> <br />thereby effect considerable savings to the City. <br /> <br />Council acknowledged a status report by Mayor Cole on on-going implementation procedures <br /> <br />in connection with the Job Training Partnership Act (which becomes effective October 1, <br /> <br />1983), with further consideration thereof scheduled for Council's forthcoming April 12th <br /> <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Council also acknowledged a report on a recent Virginia CDBG meeting attended by <br /> <br />Councilman Reed. <br /> <br />Pursuant to Section 2.1-344(a)(4) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended), and upon <br /> <br />motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried by a recorded vote, Council convened into an <br /> <br />Executive Session for the purpose of considering a previously-unannounced but prospective <br /> <br />business development, following which Executive Session Council convened into regular <br /> <br />session but took no action on this matter. <br /> <br />The meeting was then declared adjourned. <br /> <br />W'~Of Council <br />
