<br />398 <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />AUGUST 14, 1984 <br /> <br />The Executive Committee shall have the Authority to suspend or impose <br />leave of absence on any member of the Company when it deems said mem- <br />ber has caused disrepute on said Company by any of the following: <br /> <br />(1) Said member's conduct. <br /> <br />(2) Said member's actions. <br /> <br />(3) Accusations of criminal wrongdoing against said member. <br /> <br />Such suspension or imposed leave of absence shall remain in effect for <br />such length of time as stipulated by the Executive Committee when such <br />suspension or leave of absence is invoked. The Executive Committee <br />shall inform the member in question of its decision to suspend or im- <br />pose leave of absence by telephone or in person to be followed by <br />written notification. <br /> <br />Upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council authorized the Blue Ridge <br /> <br />Regional Library to accept--and expend for permitted uses--the sum of $6,872.00 in <br /> <br />federal aid allocated through the Virginia State Library Board for the year 1984-85. <br /> <br />With appreciation expressed to Hooker Furniture Corporation for making available over <br /> <br />the years its property known as "English Field" for City-sponsored recreational pur- <br /> <br />poses, Council unanimously approved a lease agreement (renewal) between the City and <br /> <br />Hooker Furniture Corporation by which the City will have usage of this facility, under <br /> <br />the auspices of the City's Recreation Department, for the year beginning July 1, 1984, <br /> <br />for the annual rental fee of $706.80, an amount deemed equal to the 1984-85 property <br /> <br />taxes assessed by the City on this property. <br /> <br />Council unanimously authorized, to the extent recommended by the City Manager Edmonds <br /> <br />at Council's July 24th meeting, participation by the City in the Commonwealth of Vir- <br /> <br />ginia's Set-Off Debt Collection Act and, in so doing, adopted the following ordinance <br /> <br />(introduced at said July 24th meeting) which establishes rules of procedure for the <br /> <br />conduct of any hearings required thereunder: <br />
