Station WDCA (Washington) and Station MSN (Modern Satellite Net- <br />work), removed from the super service before July 1, 1984, will <br />not be restored. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized and <br />directed to release to the media the statement prepared for that purpose by <br />the City of Martinsville and Martinsville Cablevision; and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said statement be, and the same hereby is, in- <br />corporated by reference into this resolution as though it were set forth <br />herein verbatim. <br /> <br />Before adjourning this meeting, Mayor Cole commended City Attorney Worthy for his research, <br /> <br />expertise and legal advice on this extremely sensitive problem (Le., the "Cablevision" <br /> <br />controversy). Mayor Cole also acknowledged with appreciation the role of the news media <br /> <br />in "covering" this matter as well as the comments and concerns expressed by cablevision <br /> <br />subscribers and, too, the patience and understanding displayed by Mr. William Anas (Manager <br /> <br />of Martinsville Cablevision) and that of his associates. Mayor Cole, further, cited the <br /> <br />cooperation extended in this matter by the Henry County Board of Supervisors which, as <br /> <br />Board Chairman Sammy Redd acknowledged, inures to the common good for both the City and <br /> <br />the County of Henry. <br /> <br />This meeting was then adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />of Council <br /> <br />._,_.-_..,.__."._."--,._--",.,,.._-~-'_._._._....,._...--...- <br />
