<br />: t1 ~ <br />L.j: ,,-_I" <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MAY 8, 1984 <br /> <br />Department of Conservation and Economic Development, <br />Division of Litter Control, and contingent upon receipt <br />of funds; <br /> <br />Hereby authorizes the Martinsvil1e-Henry County Clean <br />Community Commission to plan and budget for a cooperative <br />litter control program, which shall represent said Program <br />for all localities named in this resolution; <br /> <br />Further authorizes the Martinsville-Henry County Clean <br />Community Commission to apply on behalf of all of the <br />above-named localities for a Grant, and to be responsible <br />for the administration, implementation, and completion of <br />the Program as it is described in the attached Applica- <br />tion Form LC-G-1; <br /> <br />Further accepts responsibility jointly with the Martins- <br />vii ie-Henry County Clean Community Commission and with <br />the County of Henry for all phases of the Program; <br /> <br />Further accepts liability for its pro rata share of any <br />funds not properly used or accounted for pursuant to the <br />Regulations and the Application; <br /> <br />Assures that said funds, when received, will be trans- <br />ferred immediately to the Martinsville-Henry County Clean <br />Community Commission and that all funds will be used in <br />the Cooperative Program, hereby endorsed and supported; <br />and <br /> <br />Hereby requests the Virginia Department of Conservation <br />and Economic Development, Division of Litter Control, to <br />consider and approve the hereby-authorized Application <br />and Program, said Program being in accord with Regula- <br />tions governing use and expenditure of said funds. <br /> <br />And, on motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, Council authorized and directed <br /> <br />City Attorney Worthy to apply for U. S. Justice Department approval of a certain <br /> <br />voting change, as set forth in this resolution; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Vir- <br />ginia, at regular session held on May 8, 1984, that the City <br />Attorney, be, and he herewith is, authorized and directed to <br />apply to the U. S. Justice Department for approval of a voting <br />change whereby the General Registrar of the City of Martinsville <br />Electoral Board will conduct joint voter registration with the <br />General Registrar of Henry County at the following times and <br />places: <br />
