<br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia,
<br />
<br />with Mayor William C. Cole, Jr., presiding, was held Tuesday, April 10, 1984, in the
<br />
<br />Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M. All members, with the exception of
<br />
<br />Councilman Francis T. West (who was away from the city), were present, viz., William C.
<br />
<br />Cole, Jr., Mayor; L. D. Oakes, Vice-Mayor; Henry C. Reed; and Eliza H. Severt.
<br />
<br />After the invocation and Mayor Cole's cordial welcome to visitors present, Council--
<br />
<br />through Mayor Cole and City Manager Edmonds--presented tokens of the Council's appreci-
<br />
<br />ation to Mrs. Sue W. Richmond, Mr. W. Clarke Brown, and Mr. James W. Jones, Jr., for
<br />
<br />their services as members of the Martinsville-Henry County Clean Community Commission
<br />
<br />for terms which ended March 31, 1984. Similarly, the following employees were recog-
<br />
<br />nized for having completed (as of March 31, 1984) the following years of service to
<br />
<br />the City, with appropriate tokens of appreciation being presented to them:
