<br />3( <br /> <br />TUESDAY <br /> <br />MARCH 27, 1984 <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 219 required the establishment of long-term <br />care councils; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in September of 1982 the Board of Supervisors of Henry County <br />and the City Council of Martinsville by resolution established a <br />Cooperative Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County of Franklin has requested that they be allowed to <br />join with Martinsville and Henry County on this long-term care council; <br />and <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this merging would result in more effective and efficient <br />operations for the agencies involved in this planning effort; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Martinsville that, on <br />this 27th day of March, 1984, it does hereby amend the Resolution <br />adopted in September, 1982, as follows: <br /> <br />1. That the coordinating committee be expanded from six to <br />seven persons to include the Director of the Franklin <br />County Department of Social Service or her designee. <br /> <br />2. That the lead agency for development of this plan rotate <br />among the Henry County Social Services Department, City <br />of Martinsville Social Services Department, and the <br />Franklin County Social Services Department on an annual <br />basis. <br /> <br />Council also unanimously adopted the following resolution requesting the Virginia State <br /> <br />Library to microfilm--for security and preservation--the minutes of all meetings held <br /> <br />by Council from July 4, 1885 through December 31, 1982: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Martinsvi1le, Virginia, is concerned <br />about the preservation of the official minutes of its meetings and desires <br />to secure duplicates of said minutes, through means of microfilming, for <br />off-site storage; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Virginia State Library has offered to microfilm these minutes <br />and preserve a copy thereof, at no cost to the City of Martinsville, except <br />for a positive copy the Council may wish to place elsewhere; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in <br />regular meeting assembled, that it hereby accepts the Virginia State <br />Library's offer and hereby authorizes and directs its Clerk to deliver <br />said minutes, contained in the following enumerated Minutes Books (with <br />indices), to the State Archivist for microfilming: <br />
