<br />21 <br /> <br />MONDAY <br /> <br />FEBRUARY 13, 1984 <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Councilman West, by way of preface to a motion he subsequently offered, indicated that <br /> <br />such motion was not intended to be derisive of any person but, rather, in the best <br /> <br />interest of the City. Mr. West stated further that, in his judgment, Mr. Edmonds is the <br /> <br />best city manager in the State of Virginia and (that) Mr. Edmonds' resignation came <br /> <br />about because of a lack of harmony with Mayor Cole. Mr. West then offered his motion <br /> <br />that Council ask Mayor Cole to consider resigning in order that Mr. Edmonds might <br /> <br />remain as Martinsville's City Manager. This motion "died" for lack of a second. <br /> <br />-, <br /> <br />Mayor Cole then declared this special meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />w. <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk of Council <br />
