<br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville,Virginia,

<br />with Mayor William C. Cole, Jr., presiding, was held Tuesday, January 10, 1984, in the
<br />
<br />Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members being present, viz.,
<br />
<br />William C. Cole, Jr., Mayor; L. D. Oakes, Vice-Mayor; Henry C. Reed; Eliza H. Severt; and
<br />
<br />Francis T. West.

<br />After the invocation and following Mayor Cole's cordial welcome to visitors present, Council
<br />
<br />recognized--through Mayor Cole and City Manager Edmonds--and presented awards to the following
<br />
<br />employees who completed five-year incremental periods of employment with the City, as of
<br />
<br />December 31, 1983:
