<br />32 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, AUGUST 13, 1985 <br /> <br />GENERAL FUND <br />WATER FUND <br />SEWER FUND <br />ELECTRIC FUND <br />STORES FUND <br />HOUSING SERVICES FUND <br />TOTAL <br /> <br />$87,504 <br />9,287 <br />57,865 <br />7,090 <br />1,200 <br />2,000 <br />$164,946 <br /> <br />Upon motion by Councilman Oakes, seconded by Councilman Williams and <br /> <br />unanimously carried, Council set a public hearing for August 27 on a <br /> <br />recommendation by the Martinsville Planning Commission to amend Section X, <br /> <br />Signs, of the Zoning Ordinance regarding size, height and location in the <br /> <br />Professional and Residential-Professional districts. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Groden and <br /> <br />unanimously carried, Council set a public hearing for August 27 on a <br /> <br />request by Mike Lester of Piedmont Construction Corporation for a Special <br /> <br />Use Permit to construct 46 housing units on the west side of Smith Lake <br /> <br />Road near Forest Street. <br /> <br />Councilman Oakes asked the Administration if <br /> <br />there were any plans for upgrading Smith Lake Road, to which City Manager <br /> <br />George Brown said there were not, but the area will be monitored as to <br /> <br />traffic patterns and if it appears to be needed the Administration would <br /> <br />come to Council for an appropriation. <br /> <br />In consideration of Ordinance No. 85-9 amending Chapter 5, Articles I, II <br /> <br />and III of the City Code - Animals and Fowls - City Manager Brown noted <br /> <br />that the proposed amendments had been reviewed by the Administration and <br /> <br />all references to kennels had been removed, a change allowing four dogs on <br /> <br />a single premise and one-year for compliance for existing <br /> <br />situations that <br />
