- - Jt23 TUESDAY, JULY 9, 1985 - Pursuant to the requirements of Section 2.1-344 (subsection a-I) of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended), and upon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried by a recorded vote, Council convened into an Executive Session for the purpose of considering appointments or reappointments to various boards and commissions. Upon reconvening into regular session the following actions were taken: 1. Motion was made by Councilman Groden, seconded by Council- man Williams, and unanimously accepted to amend a Resolu- tion adopted on May 14, 1985, which created the Commercial Development Commission to succeed the Central Business District Commission to allow members to serve three-year staggered terms instead of two-year staggered terms. 2. Motion was made by Vice-Mayor Severt, seconded by Council- man Oakes and unanimously accepted to make the following appointments to the Commercial Development Commission: Conrad M. Knight Term to expire June 30, 1986 Ronnie Stone Term to expi re June 30, 1986 Bill Manning Term to expire June 30, 1986 Robert L. Canupp, Jr. Term to expire June 30, 1987 Don Louque Term to expire June 30, 1987 Becky A. Aydlett Term to expire June 30, 1987 Michael A. Muse Term to expire June 30, 1988 Terry Mitchell Term to expire June 30, 1988 William C. Beeler, Jr. Term to expire June 30, 1988 3. Motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Vice- Mayor Severt and unanimously accepted (excluding Mayor Cole's abstension) to reappointed Mayor William C. Cole, Jr., to the West Piedmont Planning District Commission Board for a three-year term to expire June 30, 1988. There being no further business, Mayor Cole declared adjourned. the meeting
