<br />- - <br /> <br />Jt23 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, JULY 9, 1985 <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Pursuant to the requirements of Section 2.1-344 (subsection a-I) of the <br /> <br />CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended), and upon motion, duly seconded <br /> <br />and unanimously carried by a recorded vote, Council convened into an <br /> <br />Executive Session for the purpose <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />considering appointments or <br /> <br />reappointments to various boards and commissions. Upon reconvening into <br /> <br />regular session the following actions were taken: <br /> <br />1. Motion was made by Councilman Groden, seconded by Council- <br />man Williams, and unanimously accepted to amend a Resolu- <br />tion adopted on May 14, 1985, which created the Commercial <br />Development Commission to succeed the Central Business <br />District Commission to allow members to serve three-year <br />staggered terms instead of two-year staggered terms. <br /> <br />2. Motion was made by Vice-Mayor Severt, seconded by Council- <br />man Oakes and unanimously accepted to make the following <br />appointments to the Commercial Development Commission: <br /> <br />Conrad M. Knight Term to expire June 30, 1986 <br />Ronnie Stone Term to expi re June 30, 1986 <br />Bill Manning Term to expire June 30, 1986 <br />Robert L. Canupp, Jr. Term to expire June 30, 1987 <br />Don Louque Term to expire June 30, 1987 <br />Becky A. Aydlett Term to expire June 30, 1987 <br />Michael A. Muse Term to expire June 30, 1988 <br />Terry Mitchell Term to expire June 30, 1988 <br />William C. Beeler, Jr. Term to expire June 30, 1988 <br /> <br />3. Motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Vice- <br />Mayor Severt and unanimously accepted (excluding Mayor <br />Cole's abstension) to reappointed Mayor William C. Cole, <br />Jr., to the West Piedmont Planning District Commission <br />Board for a three-year term to expire June 30, 1988. <br /> <br />There being no further business, Mayor Cole declared <br />adjourned. <br /> <br />the meeting <br /> <br />
