<br />105 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, MAY 28, 1985 <br /> <br />Upon motion by Vice-Mayor Severt, seconded by Councilman Williams and <br /> <br />unanimously carried, Council authorized the Mayor to execute on behalf of <br /> <br />the City an amendment to the City's agreement with the State Department of <br /> <br />Military Affairs regarding sharing of costs of maintaining the National <br /> <br />Guard Armory. <br /> <br />City Manager Brown noted that with the amendment the City <br /> <br />would be reimbursed 100% for all major maintenance repairs to the Armory. <br /> <br />Another change would allow the City to retain rental receipts of the <br /> <br />Armory <br /> <br />up to actual expenses incurred for routine operation <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />maintenance where it has been retaining all rental receipts under the <br /> <br />original agreement, but they have never exceeded the actual cost of <br /> <br />operation. <br /> <br />Councilman Oakes requested the City Administration to consider allowing <br /> <br />the Schools to use the Armory at no charge. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Councilman Groden, seconded by Vice-Mayor Severt and <br /> <br />unanimously carried, Council approved the abandonment of an unused sewer <br /> <br />easement as requested by Curtis D. Oakes. <br /> <br />It w~s noted that the City <br /> <br />obtained an easement for the construction of a sewer line on April 13, <br /> <br />1966, to cross Lot #13B located on the DuPont Road, later the plans were <br /> <br />changed, thus there is no further need for this easement as recorded. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Councilman Oakes, seconded by Vice-Mayor Severt and <br /> <br />unanimously carried, Council adopted resolutions granting approval for the <br /> <br />Martinsville School Board to apply to the State Board of Education to <br />
