Penn, Senior Clerk-Typist, Social Services Department Subject to a clarification and/or rewording of line 6 of the second paragraph on page 480 of the minutes of Council's meeting held December 11, 1984, Council unanimously approved the minutes of its meetings held December 11, 1984, December 15, 1984, and December 18, 1984. Pursuant to duly-advertised public notice, Council conducted a public hearing on the question as to whether local citizens desire that Council request the 1985 Session of the Virginia General Assembly to amend Section 9 of Chapter 6 of the City Charter to provide that the present duties and responsibilities of the City Treasurer, as they pertain to the collecting, depositing, disbursing and/or safekeeping of all City monies, shall be transferred to--and assumed by--the City's Director of Finance.
