Cole, Jr., presiding, was held Tuesday, January 8, 1985, in the Council <br /> <br />Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members being present, viz.. William C. <br /> <br />Cole, Jr., Mayor; Eliza H. Severt, Vice-Mayor; Alfred T. Groden; L. D. Oakes; and Clyde L. <br /> <br />Williams. <br /> <br />After the invocation and Mayor Cole's cordial welcome to visitors present, Mayor Cole and <br /> <br />City Manager Edmonds, on behalf of the Council and the City, presented tokens of appreci- <br /> <br />/- <br /> <br />ation, in recognition of their services rendered the City, to the following citizens and <br /> <br />retirees and, also, the following employees who completed five-year incremental periods of <br /> <br />employment with the City during the calendar quarter ended December 31, 1984 (asterisk <br /> <br />indicates not present at this meeting): <br /> <br />CITIZENS <br /> <br />Mrs. Alpha Manson, member of the West Piedmont Planning District <br />Commission's Public Services Committee, 1973-1984 <br /> <br />Mr. Richard A.
