<br />d2G <br /> <br />TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 1986 <br /> <br />form at Council's October 28th meeting for inclusion in the minutes of that meeting. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />In accordance with the requirements of subsections (a)(l) and (a)(6) of Section <br /> <br />2.1-344 of the CODE OF VIRGINIA (1950, and as amended), and upon motion, duly <br /> <br />seconded and unanimously carried, Council convened into an Executive Session for the <br /> <br /> <br />purposes of (1) considering nominees for appointment or reappointment to certain <br /> <br />boards and commissions and (2) considering a legal matter in consultation with City <br /> <br />Attorney Worthy. Upon reconvening into regular session, Council uanimously <br /> <br />appointed Vice-Mayor Williams as the City's Alternate Representative on the Central <br /> <br />Piedmont Employment Consortium's Policy Board, succeeding former Vice-Mayor Eliza H. <br /> <br />Severt. Council also unanimously requested City Attorney Worthy to represent and <br /> <br />defend the City in a civil action (i.e., Motion for Declaratory Judgment) filed <br /> <br />against the City and certain of its officials, as well as against Bill Adkins <br /> <br />Construction Corportation, by several citizens residing on Dundee Court or Corn <br /> <br />Tassel Trail who opposed Council's recent issuance of a Special-Use Permit to Bill <br /> <br />Adkins Construction Corporation to allow for construction of a townhouse complex off <br /> <br />the southwest side of Spruce Street on a tract of land applicant has agreed to <br /> <br />purchase from the City and the City has agreed to sell to applicant. <br /> <br />Mayor Oakes then declared this meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />W.
