<br />,- <br /> <br />THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 1986 <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br />in regular session held September 25, 1986, that Chapter 24, <br />Weapons, Sec. 24-5--Discharge of air guns, gravel shooters, etc., of <br />the City Code be and is hereby amended, as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 24-5. Discharge of air guns, gravel shooters, etc. <br /> <br />-, <br /> <br />(a) No person shall shoot any air gun, gravel shooter, <br />slingshot or any other type of missle-throwing device, which <br />is capable of doing injury to persons or property, at any <br />place within the city. A violation of this section shall <br />constitute a Class 1 misdemeanor. <br /> <br />(b) This section shall not apply to any ROTC student who is <br />required to shoot an air gun or pellet gun as part of his <br />training; providing this is done in the presence of, and <br />under the supervision of, the ROTC instructor and/or his <br />assistant at a site designated for this purpose by said <br />instructor and approved by the Chief of Police. <br /> <br />Council unanimously accepted for introduction and first reading, for further <br /> <br />and/or final consideration at its forthcoming October 14th meeting, an <br /> <br />ordinance (identified as Ordinance No. 86-8) which, if adopted, will amend <br /> <br />Section 5.1 of the City's Water/Sewer Services Terms & Conditions to provide <br /> <br />that--under certain conditions--City water service may be furnished mobile home <br /> <br />courts through single service connections and single meters, with the charges <br /> <br />therefor to be made in the same manner as are applicable to apartment bUildings <br /> <br />served through single connections and single meters. <br /> <br />Council unanimously authorized City Manager Brown to execute a deed whereby <br /> <br />19.1818 acres of City-owned land, in the City's Industrial Park, will be <br /> <br />conveyed to the Martinsville-Henry County Economic Development Corporation, on <br /> <br />which tract the Economic Development Corporation proposes to construct a <br /> <br />"shell" bUilding and to sell same, along with the land, eventually to some <br /> <br />industrial firm, at which time (in accordance with a promissory note from the <br /> <br />Economic Development Corporation to the City and in accordance with an <br /> <br />agreement between the City and the Corporation) the City is to receive (for the <br /> <br />:281 <br />...) -, <br />
