<br />:i40 <br /> <br />TUESDAY, AUGUST 12, 1986 <br /> <br />A regular semi-monthly meeting of the Council of the City of Martinsville, <br /> <br />Virginia, with Mayor L. D. Oakes presiding, was held Tuesday, August 12, 1986, <br /> <br />in the Council Chamber, City Hall, beginning at 7:30 P.M., all members being <br /> <br />present, viz., L. D. Oakes, Mayor; Clyde L. Williams, Vice-Mayor; William C. <br /> <br />Cole Jr.; Alfred T. Groden; and Allan McClain. <br /> <br />After the invocation and Mayor Oakes' cordial welcome extended to visitors <br /> <br />present, Council approved--as recorded--the minutes of its regular meeting held <br /> <br />July 22, 1986. <br /> <br />Pursuant to duly-published notice, Council conducted a public hearing on cer- <br /> <br />tain proposed amendments to the City's 1986-87 budget to reflect adjustments to <br /> <br />the City's Constitutional Officers' budgets in accordance with actions thereon <br /> <br />by the State Compensation Board, to reappropriate funds to cover outstanding <br /> <br />purchase orders and/or purchases made in 1985-86 for which invoices were <br /> <br />projected to be paid in the 1986-87 budget, and to provide funds for certain <br /> <br />additional items previously approved by Council. <br /> <br />There being no questions <br /> <br />posed or comments offered by any citizen, Mayor Oakes declared this public <br /> <br />hearing closed; whereupon motion, duly seconded and unanimously carried, <br /> <br />Council amended said budget in accordance with the details thereof published <br /> <br />and recommended (as on file with the Clerk of Council), a summary of which <br /> <br />follows (with reductions shown in parentheses): <br /> <br />GENERAL FUND <br /> <br />Revenues (from Commonwealth) . . . . . . . . $ <br /> <br />(21,539) <br /> <br />Expenditures <br /> <br />Registrar <br />Treasurer <br /> <br />...... <br /> <br />449 <br />(12,078) <br /> <br />... .. <br /> <br />- ._-~--'---_._---~~.,-,-----_. <br />
