Pritchett, of 1203 Maxine Road. <br /> <br />The following recently-retired employees were also recognized and were presented <br /> <br />tokens of the Council's appreciation for their services as former City employees: <br /> <br />OSCAR D. ROBERTSON.;< <br />Complaint Officer/Corporal <br />Police Department <br />August 1975 - December 1985 <br />(10 years, 3 Months) <br /> <br />VICTOR ADDISON CANNADAY <br />Service Technician Supervisor <br />Electric Department <br />January 1967 - October 1985 <br />(18 Years, 9 Months) <br /> <br />WILLIE L. MOTLEY * <br />2nd Class Line Technician <br />Electric Department <br />November 1966 - October 1985 <br />(18 Years, 11 Months) <br /> <br />Not Present <br /> <br />Also recognized and congratulated was Councilman L. D. Oakes upon his recently <br /> <br />having been named Chairman of the Cities Section of the Virginia Municipal League <br /> <br />and, as such, a member of the League's Executive Board. <br /> <br />The Reverend Thurman Echols, Pastor of the Moral Hill Missionary Baptist Church <br /> <br />and, also, President of the Martinsville-Henry County Chapter of the NAACP (National <br /> <br />Association for the Advancement of Colored People), appeared before Council and re- <br /> <br />quested that Council designate and/or establish as a legal holiday for the govern- <br /> <br />mental functions of the City of Martinsville the third Monday of each year in honor <br />
