A petition filed by The Lester Group, Inc., seeking a C-3 <br />Commercial zoning of properties situated on the north side of <br />Commonwealth Boulevard and west of Liberty Street, against which <br />no objections were registeredt with Council unanimously approving <br />said petition by its adoption of the following ordinance amending <br />the City's Zoning map: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsvillet <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this eighth day of <br />December, 1987t that the Zoning Map of the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia, be--and is hereby--amended to the <br />extent that property situated on the north side of <br />Commonwealth Boulevard (bordered on the east by Liberty <br />Street, on the west by the City's western corporate <br />limits, and on the north by the current zoning boundary of <br />M-l Industrial and R-6 Residential) is hereby rezoned from <br />M-l Industrial and R-6 Residential to C-3 Commerical. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that, an emergency <br />existing, this ordinance shall be in force on and after <br />December 9, 1987. <br /> <br />2. A proposal that the City's Land Use Plan be amended to designate <br />the aforesaid properties as "Commercial Land Use"t with Council <br />unanimously approving said proposal by its adoption of the follow- <br />ing ordinance so amending the City's Land Use Plan: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Martinsville, Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this <br />eighth day of December, 1987, that the City's Land Use <br />Plan be--and is hereby--amended to the extent that land <br />situated on the north side of Commonwealth Boulevard, <br />bordered on the east by Liberty Street, on the west by <br />the City's western corporate limits, and on the north by <br />the (heretofore) zoning boundary of M-1 Industrial and <br />R-6 Residential, be--and is hereby--redesignated (from <br />"Planned Unit Development") to commercial land use. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that, an emergency <br />existing, this ordinance shall be in force on and after <br />December 9, 1987. <br /> <br />3. A petition filed by Dorn-Will Development Corporation seeking C-3 <br />Commercial and R-P Residential-Professional zonings of its <br />properties situated on the south side of Route 58 East between <br />Salmon Street and in close proximity of the City's east corporate <br />limits, against which no objections were registered, with Council <br />unanimously approving said petition by its adoption of the <br />following ordinance amending the City's Zoning Map: <br />
