<br />" <br />I <br /> <br />TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 1987 <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Bulletin paid to the City for certain right-of-way (having been 50% of the value <br /> <br />determined by the Commissioner of Revenue) be applied in all cases of <br /> <br />right-of-way abandonments, including the case in question, that uniformity might <br /> <br />be maintained. The ordinance follows: <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsvi1le, <br />Virginia, in regular meeting assembled this twenty-fourth day of <br />November, 1987, that a small triangular strip of right-of-way <br />(consisting of approximately 412 square feet), situated on the west <br />side of Market Street near its intersection with Fayette Street <br />be--and is hereby declared--vacated and abandoned in favor of Mr. <br />Julius C. Murrell, subject to compliance by Mr. Murrell with certain <br />stipulated conditions, including the having of a survey made and a <br />plat prepared (of the property) for presentation to and approval by <br />the City's Public Works Department and including execution by the City <br />of a quit-claim deed thereto or other appropriate instrument of <br />conveyance. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by said Council that, an emergency existing, <br />this ordinance shall be in force upon compliance by Mr. Murrell with <br />all conditions required by the City of Martinsville. <br /> <br />In tentative acceptance of the Planning Commission's several recommendations, <br /> <br />Council directed that duly-advertised public hearings be conducted by Council at <br /> <br />its forthcoming December 8th meeting on the following petitions and/or <br /> <br />proposals: <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />A. A petition filed by The Lester Group, Inc., seeking C-3 Commercial <br />zoning for its properties situated on the north side of <br />Commonwealth Boulevard between Liberty Street and the City's west <br />corporate limits; <br /> <br />B. A proposal to amend the City's Land Use Plan whereby the fore- <br />going property (see "A" above) will be designated as "commercial <br />land use"; <br /> <br />C. A petition filed by Dorn-Will Development Corporation seeking <br />rezonings to C-3 Commercial and R-P Residential-Professional of its <br />properties situated on the south side of Route 58 East, between <br />Salmon Street and points near the City's east corporate limits; and <br /> <br />D. A petition filed by Mr. W. Lee Hussey, II, seeking an M-3 <br />Industrial zoning of Lots 117-140A situated on the southwest side <br />of Lavinder Street. <br />
