TUESDAY, JANUARY 13, 1987

from these requirements if, in his opinion, steep slopes or
terrain make it impractical to cut such vegetative growth as
described above provided that the intent of these requirements are
complied with. Should the owner of any such property fail or
refuse to abide by this requirement, the director of public works
shall give a written notice to such owner requiring him to cut or
have cut such grass, weeds or vegetative growth within fifteen
(15) days after the date of the notice.

Council took no action on--except to carry forward to its forthcoming January 27th

regular meeting--a proposed ordinance (identified as Ordinance No. 87-2) which, if

adopted, will amend Section 12-83(b) of the City Code to the extent of contracting,

in effect, with local "downtown" business firms for off-street parking spaces for

their employees (rather than, currently, with individual employees of these firms);

renting by the City of such spaces to the participating firms on a monthly basis

(instead of, currently, on a quarterly basis, with individual employees); and

transferring certain administrative responsibilities from the Police Department or

Police Chief to the Finance Director.

In tentative acceptance of a report and recommendations from City Manager Brown on a

proposed agreement with Multitrade Group, Inc., by which Multitrade will construct

and operate a co-generation facility and will generate and deliver electric energy

to the City, and the City will accept and purchase such energy for its electric

system, in accordance with the terms and conditions of said proposed agreement,

Council (by a vote of four-to-none, Councilman McClain abstaining) also tentatively

approved said proposed agreement, with final action thereon scheduled for Council's

forthcoming January 27th regular meeting, at which time some minor revisions to the

agreement will be presented. (The record notes that Mr. B. Edward Brammer,

President of Multitrade Group, Inc., and several of his business associates, were

present at this meeting.) Mr. Brown's report and recommendations are herewith made

a part of these minutes:

....

t.J43
