Vice <br /> <br />Mayor Reynolds indicated that once we adopt the Resolution, we would receive <br /> <br />a tool kit with signage and other resources we can use to promote the program <br /> <br />and showcase areas in our city where citizens can get involved and participate <br /> <br />in the governing process. The item will be placed on the next agenda for <br />Council action. <br /> <br />Council discussed the application by the Police Department for a $2,000 <br /> <br /> <br />National Consumers League Stipend. Robert Ramsey, Assistant Police Chief, <br /> <br /> <br />indicated that the funds would be used to help with fraud prevention especially <br /> <br /> <br />for seniors. The COP unit plans to purchase magnets and brochures to hand <br /> <br /> <br />out to seniors when they make presentations on safety and fraud. There is no <br /> <br />match required from the City. Council will take action at their next meeting. <br /> <br />Dan Collins, City Manager announced that all other items on the work <br /> <br />session part of the agenda would be considered at the next regular meeting. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark asked if the old service station on Liberty Street <br /> <br /> <br />will be torn down or left. Leon Towarnicki, Public Works Director, stated that <br /> <br /> <br />everything that was to be torn down as part of the project has been completed. <br /> <br /> <br />Council Member Clark wondered if any funds or grants were available to tear it <br /> <br /> <br />down or renovate it.
