' <br /> <br />April 11, 2006 <br /> <br />A regular work session of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br /> <br />was held on April 11, 2006, in Council Chamber, Municipal Building, <br /> <br />beginning at 1 :00 P. M., with Mayor Joe Cobbe presiding. Council Members <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />present included: Joseph R. Cobbe, Mayor; Kimble Reynolds, Jr., Vice Mayor; <br /> <br />and Council Members James W. Clark, J. Ronald Ferrill, and Terry L. Roop. <br /> <br />Mayor Cobbe opened the meeting. <br /> <br />Council considered the need to adopt an Ordinance, on second reading, <br /> <br />on a request by Toni Geter to rezone property at 16 Geter Street from C-3 <br /> <br />Commercial to R-9 Residential. Council Member Roop moved to approve the <br /> <br />following Ordinance, on second reading; the motion was duly seconded and <br /> <br />carried by the following roll call vote, all members voting: Vote: 5-0. Yeas: (5) <br /> <br />Cobbe, Reynolds, Roop, Ferrill, Clark. Nays: (0) None. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE <br /> <br />AMENDING THE ZONING MAP <br /> <br />CITY OF MARTINSVILLE <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular session <br />assembled March 28,2006, that in order to assure compliance with Virginia Code Section 15.1- <br />491 (g), it is stated that the public purpose for which this Ordinance is initiated is to fulfill the <br />requirements of public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice, that the <br />Zoning Map ofthe City of Martinsville, Virginia, be-- and is hereby -- amended to the extent that <br />16 Geter Street, Parcel 26(5)00/04, on the Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville is hereby <br />rezoned from C-3 Commercial to R-9 Residential. <br /> <br />Council next considered the adoption, on first reading, of Ordinance No. <br /> <br />2006-2 amending Section 24-6 Archery Season for Deer of the City Code. <br /> <br />Council Member Ferrill moved to approve the Ordinance, on first reading; the <br />
