Dan Collins, City <br /> <br />Manager, indicated that he would check with Lois Christensen of Gateway to <br /> <br />see if a focus group could do that. <br /> <br />Mike Rogers, Police Chief, discussed three available options to the City to <br /> <br />help better manage the deer population. All three options involve the issuance <br /> <br />of Kill Permits, but two of them involve the use of firearms. He would not <br /> <br />recommend any use of firearms in the City, which leaves the option of issuing <br /> <br />the Kill Permits for bow only. After discussion and questions, Council <br /> <br />authorized the Police Department and the City Attorney to proceed with the <br /> <br />necessary steps to amend the City Code to allow for the issuance of the Kill <br /> <br />Permits for Bow only and to bring an appropriate Ordinance back to Council <br /> <br />for approval at a later date. <br /> <br />Council discussed the need to increase EMS ambulance transport fee <br /> <br />rates to be more in line with recent changes in Medicare reimbursement <br /> <br /> <br />schedule and policies. Clarence Monday, Deputy Fire Chief, explained that <br /> <br /> <br />Medicare adjusted their EMS ambulance fee reimbursement schedule in <br /> <br /> <br />January and that the City's rates are well below Medicare's allowable charges. <br /> <br />.- <br /> <br />This item will be on the next agenda for Council to take action. <br /> <br />Mayor Cobbe announced that all other items on the work session part of <br /> <br />the agenda would be considered at the next regular meeting. <br />
