.'
J. ;,_)

December 13, 2005

Council next viewed a power point presentation on the Adelphia Cable

System by Robert Sepe of Action Audits, LLC. After the presentation, Mayor

Cobbe opened the floor for any public comments. Robert Merhige, Regional

Operations Council for Adelphia; William Koger, Adelphia employee; Vince

Stone of Sam Lions Trail; Leon Moore of Ridgeway; John Wolchko, city resident

and owner of Kimbanet; Eric Erhartic, CEO of Sitestar; and Bill Davis, Adelphia

employee, expressed their concerns about the city purchasing the current cable

system. Mayor Cobbe thanked those that spoke and indicated that all the

concerns they expressed are also the concerns of Council.

Council considered business from the floor. Bob Ford, Pastor and city

resident expressed his concern about the recent increase in electricity rates

and the numerous phone calls being received at his church from citizens

wanting assistance. He asked if there was anything else Council could do to

help those with documented severe need. Mayor Cobbe explained to him and

reminded the public of the Good Neighbor Fund that the city has funded

through the Salvation Army specifically for that purpose and that funds are

still available.

Fred Gehrke, Patrick Henry Community College Board representative for

the city, expressed his thanks for the city's help with expanding the RN

program at the College. He also indicated that Max Wingett had written a letter

on August 23 requesting that the city give the College the balance of their

original funding request for FY06 and had not received a reply.
