<br />-~ <br />J _ <br /> <br />October 11 , 2005 <br /> <br />A regular work session of the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, <br /> <br />was held on October 11, 2005, in Council Chamber, Municipal Building, <br /> <br />beginning at 1:00 P. M., with Mayor Joe Cobbe presiding. Council Members <br /> <br />present included: Joseph R. Cobbe, Mayor; Kimble Reynolds, Jr., Vice Mayor; <br /> <br />and Council Members James W. Clark, J. Ronald Ferrill, and Terry L. Roop. <br /> <br />Mayor Cobbe opened the meeting. <br /> <br />Council Member Roop moved to approve the following Ordinance to <br /> <br />rezone 509 E. Church Street (Tax Map 34(3)Aj 16), from R-9 Residential to P-2 <br /> <br />Professional on second reading; the motion was duly seconded and carried by <br /> <br />the following roll call vote, all members voting: Vote: 5-0. Yeas: (5) - Cobbe, <br /> <br />Reynolds, Roop, Ferrill, Clark. Nays: (0) - None. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING THE ZONING MAP <br />CITY OF MARTINSVILLE <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular session <br />assembled September 27,2005, that in order to assure compliance with Virginia Code Section <br />15.1-491 (g), it is stated that the public purpose for which this Ordinance is initiated is to fulfill <br />the requirements of public necessity, convenience, general welfare and good zoning practice, that <br />the Zoning Map of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, be-- and is hereby -- amended to the extent <br />that 509 E. Church Street, known as 34(03)NI6 on the Zoning Map ofthe City of Martinsville, <br />is hereby rezoned from R-9 Residential to P-2 Professional. <br /> <br />Council Member Ferrill moved to approve the following Ordinance to <br /> <br />amend the City's Land Use Map to indicate the northwest side of this entire <br /> <br />block, as Professional rather than the present designation of Low Medium <br />
