<br />,_fi <br /> <br />June 28, 2005 <br /> <br />ARTICLE III. LICENSING AND BONDS <br />Sec. 3.1. LicensinQ <br />Every person who desires to engage in the business of building, <br />plumbing, electrical or mechanical contractor in the City must be <br />licensed by the Department of Professional and Occupational <br />Regulation Board of Contractors. He must also be licensed by the <br />Commissioner of the Revenue and must have paid the license tax <br />required. <br />Sec. 3.2. Indemnitv Bond <br />In addition to the license required above, any person who desires to <br />engage in the business of a building, plumbing, electrical or <br />mechanical contractor in the City shall first obtain and deposit with <br />the City a good and sufficient bond in the sum of Five Thousand <br />($5000) dollars, conditioned that the person faithfully observe all <br />the laws pertaining to building, plumbing, electrical and mechanical <br />work and that the City shall be indemnified and saved harmless <br />from all claims arising from accidents and damage of any character <br />whatsoever caused by the negligence of such person or by any <br />other inadequate work done either by him or his agent or <br />employees and that such person will maintain in a safe condition for <br />a period of one (1) year all ditches and excavations which may be <br />opened in the performance of such work, and further that all dirt <br />and other material excavated will be replaced in good condition with <br />similar materials. <br />Sec.3.3. Contractor's Liabilitv Insurance <br />Any person who desires to engage in the business of building, <br />plumbing, electrical or mechanical contractor in the City shall <br />present to the Building Official satisfactory evidence of contractor's <br />liability insurance in the amount of $50,000 for bodily injury and <br />$50,000 for property damage. <br />ARTICLE IV. PERMIT AND REINSPECTION FEES <br />Sec 4.1. Permit Fees <br />No permit shall be valid until the fees prescribed shall have been <br />paid, or shall any amendment to a permit be approved until the <br />additional fees, if any, shall have been paid. The permit fee <br />schedule shall be as follows: <br />A. Building Code <br />1. New residential construction, 8 cents per square foot of floor <br />area, including basement floor area. <br />New residential modular units, 8 cents per square foot of <br />floor area, including basement floor area. <br />Minimum fee $40.00 per unit. <br />2. New retail or commercial business construction, 8 cents per <br />s~uare foot of floor area including basement floor area. <br />Minimum fee $40.00 per unit. <br />3. New manufacturing or warehouse construction, 8 cents per <br />s~uare foot of floor area, including basement floor area. <br />Minimum fee $40.00 per unit. <br />4. Alterations and renovations to existing building (all types), 8 <br />cents per square foot of floor area inCluded in the portion of <br />the building under- going alterations, renovations or repair. <br />Charges snail be carculaled to the nearest 25 % of the floor <br />
