<br />!- <br />~.... <br /> <br />June 28,2005 <br /> <br />expressed his thought that the public should be provided with as much information as <br /> <br />possible regarding what the study will entail, what effect reversion may have on the <br /> <br />citizens, what services may be in jeopardy, and what effect it will have on taxation. City <br /> <br />Manager Collins replied that it is his plan to collect data on the economic impact and <br /> <br />feasibility of reversion before presenting it to the public. <br /> <br />Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with <br /> <br />Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virqinia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion <br /> <br />by Council Member Ferrill, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council <br /> <br />convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matters: <br /> <br />A. A personnel matter, as authorized by Subsection 1. <br />B. Appointments to Boards and Commissions, as authorized by <br />Subsection 1. <br />1. Martinsville Architectural Board <br />2. Martinsville Tree Board <br /> <br />At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each returning member of Council <br /> <br />certified that (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements <br /> <br />were discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified <br /> <br />in the motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered <br /> <br />during said Session. Upon return to Open Session, Council took the following actions: <br /> <br />A. Council Member Roop moved to appoint Susan N. Johnson as <br />Clerk of Council and Betty Thompson as Deputy Clerk and <br />reappoint Matthew Hankins as Deputy Clerk; the motion was duly <br />seconded and carried by the following vote, with all members <br />voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Clark, CObbe, Ferrill, Reynolds, <br />Roop; Nays (0) - None. <br />S. 2. Council Member Ferrill moved to appoint Lizabeth "Libby" <br />Ayers, of 915 Dundee Court, to a two-year term on the Martinsville <br />Tree Board ending March 31, 2007; the motion was duly seconded <br />and carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 _ <br />0; Yeas (5) - Clark, Cobbe, Ferrill, Reynolds, Roop; Nays (0) _ <br />None. <br />
