December 13, 2005

5 years - Greg Johnston, Police; William Goad, Police; Molly Shelton,
Electric; Timothy Gary, Sheriffs Office; Clarence Robertson, Sheriffs
Office; James Cooper, Sheriffs Office

Council considered recogmzmg the nommees for the 2005 Fourth

Quarter Service Excellence Award and announcement of Quarterly Winner.

Dan Collins, City Manager, recognized Chad Dodson of Public Works, T. J.

Dunbar of Water, Dennis Napier of Public Works and Molly Shelton of Electric.

Molly Shelton was named the Quarterly Winner.

Council received a presentation of the quarterly neighborhood focus

report for the Druid Hills-Uptown area. Brenda Prillaman of Customer Service

gave a brief overview of the report stating that there were over 100 more

concerns reported this year than for the same period as last year. The increase

may be due to more active neighborhood watch programs and residents taking

more pride in their properties and reporting issues that fall under the city's

property maintenance program.

Council next considered the need to adopt Ordinance 2005-8, on second

reading, relative to legislative changes in the Personal Property Tax Relief Act

(PPTRA) effective January 1, 2006. Council Member Roop moved to approve

the following Ordinance, on second reading; the motion was duly seconded and

carried by the following roll call vote, all members voting: Vote: 5-0. Yeas: (5)

Cobbe, Reynolds, Roop, Ferrill, Clark. Nays: (0) None.
