July 12, 2005

Following the Closed Session, Council reconvened and continued with

the remainder of the agenda.

Council next considered the schedule and location for the FY06

neighborhood focus meetings. Mr. Collins recommended that we continue

reviewing the reports quarterly at the work sessions, but not place on the

regular meeting agenda for public comments because citizens are given the

opportunity to make comments at all council meetings. The schedule will be

approved at the next regular meeting.

Wayne Knox, Planning/Zoning and Housing Manager briefly summarized

three items scheduled for public hearings at the next regular meeting: request

for special use permit by Barrows Mill Housing, Inc; request for abandonment

of Allen Street by the Lester Group, Inc. and request by the Planning

Commission to amend various sections of the Zoning and Land Subdivision

ordinances.

Mayor Cobbe indicated that there is still one position open on the

Architectural Board if any citizen is interested in applying.

Mr. Collins reminded Council of the Chamber's State of the City/County

luncheon on Thursday, July 21 st, at 12 Noon at the Best Western.
