<br />ARTICLE III. LICENSING AND BONDS <br /> <br />Sec. 3.1. Licensing <br /> <br />Every person who desires to engage in the business of building, plumbing, electrical or mechanical <br />contractor in the City must be licensed by the Department of Professional and Occupational <br />Regulation Board of Contractors. He must also be licensed by the Commissioner of the Revenue <br />and must have paid the license tax required. <br /> <br />Sec. 3.2. Indemnity Bond <br /> <br />In addition to the license required above, any person who desires to engage in the business of a <br />building, plumbing, electrical or mechanical contractor in the City shall first obtain and deposit with <br />the City a good and sufficient bond in the sum of Five Thousand ($5000) dollars, conditioned that the <br />person faithfully observe all the laws pertaining to building, plumbing, electrical and mechanical <br />work and that the City shall be indemnified and saved harmless from all claims arising from <br />accidents and damage of any character whatsoever caused by the negligence of such person or by any <br />other inadequate work done either by him or his agent or employees and that such person will <br />maintain in a safe condition for a period of one (1) year all ditches and excavations which may be <br />opened in the performance of such work, and further that all dirt and other material excavated will be <br />replaced in good condition with similar materials. <br /> <br />Sec.3.3. Contractor's Liability Insurance <br /> <br />Any person who desires to engage in the business of building, plumbing, electrical or mechanical <br />contractor in the City shall present to the Building Official satisfactory evidence of contractor's <br />liability insurance in the amount of $50,000 for bodily injury and $50,000 for property damage. <br /> <br />ARTICLE IV. PERMIT AND REINSPECTION FEES <br /> <br />Sec 4.1. Permit Fees <br /> <br />No permit shall be valid until the fees prescribed shall have been paid, or shall any amendment to a <br />permit be approved until the additional fees, if any, shall have been paid. The permit fee schedule <br />shall be as follows: <br /> <br />A. Building Code <br /> <br />1. New residential construction, 8 cents per square foot of floor area, including basement <br />floor area. <br /> <br />New residential modular units, 8 cents per square foot of floor area, including basement <br />floor area. <br /> <br />Minimum fee $40.00 per unit. <br /> <br />2. New retail or commercial business construction, 8 cents per square foot of floor area <br />including basement floor area. <br /> <br />Minimum fee $40.00 per unit. <br />
