WASTE STREAM ANALYSIS <br />Page2 <br />January 24, 2005 <br /> <br />The la~fill recycled 273 tons ofwaste tires and 88 tons of scrap metal for the year. The average total <br />waste per day equates to 282 tons/day on a six day per week average as compared to 268 tons/day <br />during 2003. <br /> <br />Table II gives a monthly breakdown of waste received fi.om the City of Martinsville. <br />Approximately 25% of tho waste was residential, 19% was commercial, 14% was industrial, 32% <br />was sludge ~om the wastewater treatment plant, 8% was C/D/D, and 2% being land clcaring/yard <br />waste. Total tonnage ~om the City was 25,501 tons for the 12-month period. This is an increase <br />of 4,484 tons above last year's tonnage. The average total waste per day equates to 81.5 tons/day <br />on a ~ix day per week average. <br /> <br />Table III gives a monthly breakdown of waste received fi.om Henry County. Approximately 40% <br />of the waste was residential, 22% was commercial, 28% was industrial, 3% was sludge, 5% was <br />C/D/D, and 2% was land clearing/yard waste. Total tonnage fi.om the County was 62,705 tons <br />for the 12-month period. The total amount of residential waste delivered by the Henry County <br />Refi~se Department trucks fi.om Green Box Sites and County schools was 22,548 tons as <br />compared to 21,856 tons in 2003. This amount equates to approximately 26% of the total waste <br />stream received at the landfill. Waste totals for the County decreased by 161 tons below the <br />previous year. The average total waste per day equates to 200 tons/day on a slx day per week <br />average. <br /> <br />In conclusion, the waste reports indicate the landfill received increases in ~I1 the waste categories <br />except industrial waste during 2004 as compared to 2003.
