Enclosure #. <br /> <br />Martinsville <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Martinsville Fire & EMS Department has taken extreme pride in re- <br />landscaping and placing a flag pole in front of their facility during the week of June 7-14, <br />2004, at 65 West Church Street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, they have volunteered to assist with Flag Day each June 14; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department's Color Guard has received training from the 3rd United <br />States Infantry Re,>lment, The Old Guard", at Fort Myer, Virginia; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the fire department's physical location is more conducive to accommodating <br />a large number of people attending the Flag Day ceremony; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the department's lawn has a wonderful shade tree for protection against the <br />sun on bright sunny days and in the event of inclement weather, the ceremony can be <br />moved inside; now, therefore <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, in regular <br />session assembled June 22, 2004, that it does declare the Martinsville Fire & EMS <br />Department at 65 West Church Street the official location for all future Flag Day <br />ceremonies. <br /> <br />Attest <br /> <br />Johnathan B.
