June 22,2004 <br /> <br /> 6. $177,279 in Revenue into 18101918 418298 State Grant/Prime Time <br /> Learning Project for Expenditure in 85001029 561121 Prime Time <br /> Learning/Teach Salary & Wages <br /> <br /> Mayor Teague reminded everyone of the State of the City and County Address <br />on June 25, 2004, and Council's Organizational Meeting on July 1, 2004. Wade <br />Bartlett, Interim City Manager, thanked Council, Dr. Trollinger, and his wife for their <br />patience and understanding during the interim period. Council expressed its <br />appreciation to Mr. Bartlett for his hard work and dedication. Dan Collins will begin as <br />the new City Manager on July 1,2004. <br /> <br /> Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with <br />Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virqinia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion <br />by Vice Mayor Roop, duly seconded, and by majority recorded vote, Council convened <br />in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matters: <br /> <br /> A. Appointments to Boards and Commissions, as authorized by <br /> Subsection 1. <br /> 1. Board of Appeals <br /> 2. Patrick Henry Community College Board <br /> 3. Planning Commission <br /> 4. School Board <br /> B. The investing of public funds where competition or bargaining is <br /> involved, where, if made public initially, the financial interest of the <br /> governmental unit would be adversely affected, as au'~horized by <br /> Subsection 6. <br /> <br /> At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each returning member of Council <br /> certified that (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements <br /> were discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified <br /> in the motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered <br /> during said Session. Upon return to Open Session, Council took the following action: <br /> <br /> <br />
