VII. Conduct a public hearing and consider adoption, on fn-st reading, of Ordinance No. 2004-8, amending certain sections of Article III, Public Dances of Chapter 4 of the City Code. (See Enclosure #6) VIII. Conduct a public hearing and consider adoption, on first reading, of the following ordinances relating to the City's FY05 budget A. Ordinance No. 2004-10 amending Appendix A of the City's Terms and Conditions for Electric Service. (See Enclosure #7-a) Bo Ordinance No. 2004-11 amending Appendix A --Schedule of Water and Sewer Service Rates of the City's Terms and Conditions for Water and Sewer Service. (See Enclosure #7-b) C. Ordinance No. 2004-12 mending Chapter 18---Solid Waste, Sec. 18-24 Fee Schedule of the City Code. (See Enclosure #7-c) D. Ordinance No. 2004-13 establishing the City's Budget and Tax Rates for Fiscal Year 2005. (See Enclosure #7-d) IX. Conduct a public hearing for the purpose of receiving/interviewing citizens interested in appointment to one position on the City's School Board. COMMENTS.'. As Council is aware, Lynn Ward's term ends June 30, 2004. Mrs. Ward is eligible for reappointment and she has indicated she is not interested in reappointment. At the time of preparing this Agenda, no Forms/Resumes had been received, but the deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, the 24th. We will prepare an Addendum and have at your place for Tuesday's meeting. Should Council desire, it can convene in Closed Session, under Subsection 1 of the FOI Act, for the purpose of interviewing the applicants. According to State Law, only those citizens interviewed by Council or whose name was brought up during the Public Hearing can be considered for appointment, and appointments cannot be made until seven days after the Public Hearing, thus this item will be on Council's June 8th Agenda. X. Business from the Floor This section of the Council meeting provides citizens the opportunity to discuss matters, which are not listed on the printed agenda. In that the Council meetings are broadcast on Martinsville Government Television, the City Council is responsible for the content of the programming. Thus, any person wishing to bring a matter to Co~ncil's attention under this Section of the agenda should: (1) come to the podium and state their name and address; (2) state the matter that they wish to discuss and what action they would like for Council to take; (3) limit their remarks to five minutes; and (4) refrain from making ~y personal references or accusations of a factually false and/or malicious nature.
