8,2 <br /> <br />February 21,2004 <br /> <br /> A Work session meeting of the CoUnbii Of ~e City of M~.i~i~i§viiie, Virginia, was <br />held on February 21, 2004, as part of the Henry ~ouhiy Board of SuperviSOrs' Planning <br />Retreat at the Emergency Services Trainin~ center, 5~ginning at 8:00 A. M., with Mayor <br />Gene Teague Presiding. CoUnCil Members pi'esent included: M. Gene Teague, Mayor; <br />Terry L. Roop, Vice Mayor; and Cou~cil Membe¢ J. Ronald Ferrill. <br /> <br /> Jack Edwards, Facilitatdr, aPPlauded the Council and the Board for meeting <br />jointly. He enc0ura§bd bOth b0di6s tO maintain a document of all cooperative efforts, a <br />"scorecard." <br /> <br /> Benny sunimerlin, County Administrator, stated that according to Ben Gardner, <br />Chairman of the COalition for Economic Pre~§~, 'the patrick He~h/ Development <br />Council remains "in existence d~i paper" and some uiieXpended funds may be available. <br />Patrick Henry community College has Offered office space. The COalition has directed <br />Wade Bartlett, interim City Man~]er, Klm Adkins, Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of <br />Commerce PreSident, and Mr. Su~erlin to pbi'foCm a cost analysis of a staffed office. <br />Mayor Teague Cla~.ified that the jOint economic dbVbl0pment ma~rkbting concept was the <br />same presented to both bodieS. A disbd§si0n en§ubd regarding the Concept's Creation <br />and framework. Vice Mayor R0oi~ rnbved for a preSS release be prepai'ed regarding the <br />current progress of the Coalition; the motioh was duly seconded and carried by the <br />following vote, with all members prbsbn!
