Wade Bartlett, Interim City Manager, requested future discussion regarding <br />the use of Hooker Field; the topic was added to the Strategic Planning Session agenda. <br />A discussion ensued regarding the State budget. Vice Mayor Roop moved for <br />Administration to draft a letter requesting revenue enhancements and prevention of cuts <br />to the City; the motion was duly seconded and carried by the following vote, with all <br />members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yays (5) - Cobbe, Dallas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) <br />- None. <br /> <br /> Council considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance with <br />Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virginia (1950, and as amended) and upon motion <br />by Council Member Dallas, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, Council <br />convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following matters: <br /> <br /> A. Appointments/Reappointments to various Boards/Commissions, as <br /> authorized by Subsection 1. <br /> 1. Board of Appeals <br /> 2. West Piedmont Planning District Technical Advisory <br /> Committee <br /> B. A prospective business or industry or expansion of an existing <br /> business or industry where no previous announcement has been <br /> made of the business' or industry's interest in locating or expanding <br /> its facilities in the community, as authorized by Subsection 5. <br /> C. A personnel matter under the jurisdiction of the City Council, as <br /> authorized by Subsection 1. <br /> <br /> Council recessed and convened as the Martinsville Redevelopment and Housing <br />Authority at 8:55 P. M. <br /> <br /> The Authority considered conducting a public hearing and approving an <br />ordinance, on emergency basis, amending the Administrative Plan of the Housing <br />Voucher Program.
