Purchase Price: $218,000, new <br />Current Replacement Cost: $275,000 (Rescue Pumper) <br /> <br />Condition: Excellent <br /> <br />Departmental Function: primary fire attack engine for Station 1 and second due to EMS calls <br />in Station l's district. <br /> <br />History: Engine 111 was purchased to serve as the primary response pumper for Station 1 <br />and has remained in this capacity since that time. Engine 111 also responds to other fire calls <br />as needed. This trUck responds to second due EMS calls. Examples include car accidents <br />and times when backup is necessary on critical medical calls. <br /> <br />Current Problems: Due to the fire service utilizing 5" supply hose, the trUck has limited <br />ability to utilize this modem inception of water supply technology. Specifically, the hose bed <br />is configured for 3" supply hose. Therefore, if the department added the larger hose, the <br />hosebed capacity would be reduced. Furthermore, when laying supply hose, the larger <br />couplings will interfere with the hose's ability to feed offthe trUck.
