Enclosure #_ <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR <br /> CONDUCTING CONTINUUM OF CARE PLAN <br />AND CONTINUUM OF CARE FUNDS APPLICATION <br />DEVELOPMENT AND SUBMISSION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Martinsville officially recognizes the Continuum of Care <br />Steering Committee of the West Piedmont Planning District, formed in the year 2003 as the <br />agent to develop a regional Continuum of Care Plan and Application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Continuum of Care Steering Committee of the West Piedmont Planning District <br />intends to develop certain items needed in order to submit for and be eligible to receive <br />Continuum of Care grant funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban <br />Development; these items including a gap analysis, point in time survey, priorities development, <br />and overall continuum of care plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Continuum of Care Steering Committee of the West Piedmont Planning District <br />intends to acquire funding from various sources in the regional community and state in order to <br />develop the necessary effort, studies, and plan necessary to make the application for funds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Continuum of Care Steering Committee of the West Piedmont Planning District <br />intends to acquire necessary temporary consultancy and staff-type assistance to aid the effort; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Continuum of Care Steering Committee of the West Piedmont Planning District <br />intends to request an entity to be the fiscal agent for this effort and for administration of any <br />future funds that might be received for the Continuum of Care Program for this region; now, <br />therefore <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Martinsville, Virginia, assembled in regular <br />session held August 12, 2003, that this jurisdictional subdivision of the Commonwealth of <br />Virginia recognizes the statements herein, recognizes the Continuum of Care Steering <br />Committee of the West Piedmont Planning District, and supports its efforts to proceed with the <br />work efforts, studies, and plan, and then submission of an application for funding. <br /> <br />Attest: <br /> <br />Johnathan B.
