Enclosure #. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Martinsville requires the timely payment of taxes and <br />other revenues due and owing to it; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City is of the opinion that the most effective method for the <br />collection of delinquent taxes and revenues is the employment of an attorney to <br />assist the City Treasurer; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Attorney has agreed to assist the City Treasurer in the <br />collection of these taxes and revenues; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Martinsville in regular session <br />assembled on August 12, 2003, that the City Attorney is author/zed to contract with <br />and empowered to assist the Treasurer in the collection of such delinquent taxes <br />and revenues as the Treasurer shall, in her sole discretion, deem it desirable to <br />seek his assistance; that the City Attorney shall, as the Treasurer's designee, be <br />vested with ali the statutory powers vested in the Treasurer for the collection of <br />such taxes and revenues, and that the City Attorney shall be paid for his services, <br />and the collection of such taxes and revenues pursued, in accordance with Section <br />21-4 of the City Code. <br /> <br />Attest: <br /> <br />Johnathan B.
