Roop <br /> <br />Pledge to the American flag <br /> <br />Recognition by the Fire Department of the Martinsville Volunteer Fire <br />Company for a $10,400 donation towards the purchase of three defibrillators. <br /> <br />Consider a request by the Virginia Municipal League to submit nominations <br />for membership on the VML 2003-2004 Policy Committees. (See Enclosure #1) <br /> <br />COMMENTS: Membership for 2002 was: <br /> Environmental Quality - Joseph R. Cobbe <br /> Finance - J. Ronald Ferrill <br /> General Laws - M. Gene Teague <br />Human Development and Education - Bruce H.T. Dallas <br />Transportation - Terry L. Roop <br />Policy Committees will meet in July in Richmond. Exact date and location <br />will be furnished later. <br /> <br />Consider adoption of a Resolution supporting all avenues possible to ensure <br />that quality and affordable health care continue to be available for our <br />citizens. (See Enclosure #2) <br /> <br />Consider adoption of a Resolution establishing policy regarding requests for <br />tax exemption by not-for-profit organizations. (See Enclosure #3) <br /> <br />Consider adoption, on first reading, of Ordinance No. 2003-4 amending <br />Ordinance No. 2000-4 relating to the meals tax notification process used by <br />the Commissioner of Revenue to collect such taxes. (See Enclosure #4) <br /> <br />Conduct a Public Hearing and consider adoption on first reading of Ordinance <br />2003-3 on a request by the Planning Commission to amend Zoning Ordinance <br />Sections I-VII and XVI-XXIV. {See Enclosure #5) <br /> <br />VII.
