January 14, 2003 <br /> <br /> Council recessed and convened as the Martinsville Redevelopment and Housing <br />Authority at 8:53 P. M. <br /> <br /> The Authority considered the need to meet in Closed Session. In accordance <br />with Section 2.1-344 (A) of the Code of Virqinia (1950, and as amended) and upon <br />motion by Authority Member Dallas, duly seconded, and by unanimous recorded vote, <br />the Authority convened in Closed Session, for the purpose of discussing the following <br />matter: <br /> <br /> A. Disposition of publicly held real property, as authorized by <br /> Subsection 3. <br /> <br /> At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of the Authority certified <br />that (1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br />discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the <br />motion convening the Closed Session were heard, discussed, or considered during said <br />Session. Upon return to Open Session, Vice Chairman Roop moved to authorize the <br />Chairman to sign the appropriate documents to convey Brookdale Street Parcel A&B, <br />Lot 46, to Martinsville Properties, LLC, for $53,800; the motion was duly seconded and <br />carried by the following vote, with all members voting: Vote 5 - 0; Yeas (5) - Cobbe, <br />DalIas, Ferrill, Roop, Teague; Nays (0) - None. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Authority during their regular <br />meeting, upon motion by Authority Member Ferrill, duly seconded, by unanimous vote, <br />Chairman Teague declared the meeting adjourned at 9:30 P. M. <br /> <br /> At the conclusion of this Closed Session, each member of Council certified that <br />(1) only public business matters exempt from open meeting requirements were <br />discussed in said Closed Session; and (2) only those business matters identified in the <br /> <br /> <br />
