TUESDAY, November 26, 2002 <br /> <br />2. $20,726 in Revenue into 18101918 418294, Tobacco Settlement Grant for <br /> Expenditure in 71001001 566046, High School / Tobacco Settlement Grant. <br />3. $125,609 in Revenue into 18101918 418295, WlA Work Program for Expenditure <br /> in 73001003 566047, High School / WIA Work Program Instructional Materials. <br /> <br /> Council moved upon motion duly seconded, with all members voting: Vote 5-0; Yeas (5)- Teague, <br />Roop, Cobbe, Dallas, and Ferrill; Nays (0)- None, to approve such Consent Agenda items. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tom Hamed, Director of Economic Development, informed Council that the State has unfrozen <br />$1.375 million in grant funds to be used towards the development of Patriot Center industrial lots. <br /> <br /> Mayor Teague asked the Clerk to send congratulatory letters, on behalf of Council, to Congressman <br />Rick Boucher, Congressman Virgil Goode, and U.S. Senator John Warner. <br /> <br /> In accordance with the CODE OF VIRGINIA, 1950 and as amended, Chapter 21, Freedom of <br />Information Act, Section 2.1-344(A), Executive or Closed Meetings, and upon motion, duly seconded, and <br />by unanimous recorded vote, Council convened in Closed Session for the purpose of discussing the <br />following matters: <br /> <br /> A. Appointments/Reappointments to various Boards/Commissions, as authorized by Subsection 1. <br /> <br /> 1. Transportation Safety Commission <br /> (Two high school students to one-year terms ending 6/30/2003) <br /> <br /> Council recessed and reconvened as the Martinsville Redevelopment and Housing Authority. After <br />convening, consideration was given for a Public Hearing on December 10, 2002 to consider proposed <br />amendments to the Administrative Plan of the Section 8 Rental Housing Assistance Program. The <br />Martinsville Redevelopment and Housing Authority moved upon motion duly seconded, with all members <br />voting: Vote 5-0; Yeas (5)- Teague, Roop, Cobbe, Dallas, and Fen-ill; Nays (0)- None, to set such Public <br />Hearing as noted. The Martinsville Redevelopment and housing Authority adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
