TUESDAY, August 13, 2002 <br /> <br />regular session assembled August 13, 2002, that the City of Martinsville Zoning Ordinance, Section XIII, Business <br />and Manufacturing Districts, be amended, revised, and reordained to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section XIII, Business and Manufacturing Districts, ordinance text as given herein. <br /> <br />Ali ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be and the same are hereby <br />repealed. <br /> <br />Council opened the Meeting for Business from the Floor. Mr. Hardin Edwards of 810 Forest Lake Drive <br />expressed concerns over issues on Forest Lake Drive. Such concerns include loud music, speeding, littering, <br />parked cars blocking traffic, and improperly placed garbage cans. Council requested the City Manager to <br />follow-up, in writing, with Mr. Edwards as to these issues. Mr. Chris Koumparakis, addressed Council and <br />questioned the methodology utilized by Ma~'msville School Officials, in the planning and construction of a <br />field house at Ma~insville High School. Council requested the City Manager seek comments from the <br />School Board as to the aforementioned matter. <br /> <br />Council considered the following Consent Agenda items: <br /> A. Accept and appropriate in the School Fund for the FY03 Budget $4,260 in Revenue 18103908 <br /> 418286, E-rate Reimbursement for Expenditure in 85001014 568209, E-rate ADP Equipment. <br /> B. Public Hearing for August 27, 2002 on a Local Law Enforcement Block Grant of $20,688 for the <br /> Police Department. <br /> <br />Council moved upon motion duly seconded, with all members voting: Vote 5-0; Yeas (5)- Teague, Roop, <br />Cobbe, Dallas, and Fen'ill; Nays (0)- None, to approve the two Consent Agenda items. <br /> <br />Mayor Teague asked Council Members to check their calendars for availability for a strategic planning <br />session. Tentative dates are September 27-28 and October 10-11. At least one council Member had <br /> <br />conflicts with September 28 and October 11; therefore, Mayor Teague agreed to seek alternative dates with <br /> <br />the facilitator. Council Members will be notified as to substituted dates and times. <br /> <br /> <br />
